Empyrean Temple captivated the imaginations of over 70,000 individuals at one of the world’s most renowned art festivals, Burning Man. As a proud and essential member of the lighting design team, I was fortunate enough to contribute to the tremendous success of the awe-inspiring structure.

As the previsualization designer, I used Blender software to meticulously calculate measurements, spatial design, and lighting concepts the bring our vision of life, ensuring a seamless proof of concept. I also developed a compressive lighting plot, allowing for precise coordination and execution onsite, specifying the placement and configuration of all the fixtures used in our production using Adobe Illustrator.

Beyond previs design I also actively engaged in project management, fostering effective communication and teamwork. From organizing team meetings and setting agendas, to delegating tasks and tracking progress, I ensured smooth coordination between internal and external teams.

Beyond the preliminary stages, I executed the practical aspects of the production such as programming the fixtures using Astera App, fabricating the lantern designs using industrial grade laser cutting machines, and rigging and striking the fixtures onsite. The results surpassed expectations, with the Empyrean Temple a remarkable highlight of the entire ten-day event.
